Notes from the film:
-Recreate the cover photograph! (Love it)

-Dan: Slicked back hair
-Fiona: Straight hair that curls in at the bottom
-Fiona: Get her two rings to look like wedding rings. Dan also needs one
-Simple make-up, red lipstick, white cloves, red nail polish
-The have a really bad marriage, don’t love each other anymore but are still together.
-Starting scene, husband walking down path to car (You can see this through the reflection of has car mirror. Then there is a shot of his wife watching from out the window inside the house
-Simple cloths (Ones you wear everyday) Nothing flashy
-Dan: Shirt, tie, dress pants, blazer and hat. (Boring colours) Also briefcase
-Wife does all the household chores
-Wife looking out the window, reflection of outside on her, looking sad
-Lot of shots through the hall way down to the bedroom, wife setting on the bed looking at old photos.
-April and Frank Wheeler
-Sick of living in the Suburbs, dreams of moving on Paris
-Sitting on opposite sides of the dinning room table in half darkness eating breakfast
-April becomes pregnant and Frank gets offered a better job. Frank starts to not want to move away anymore
-The become angry at each other again
-Both sleep with other people at different point in the film. Frank: before they decide to go to Paris US
-This shows that no matter what point in their marriage they are not happy and never will be
-Have stopped sleeping with each other
-Frank tells April about the other woman. She doesn’t feel anything, she doesn’t care anymore
-April doesn’t love Frank anymore
-Frank wants April to care, he still loves her
-“Hopeless emptiness”
-“The inability to love”
-April now hate Frank
-Frank gets really mad because April doesn’t love him anymore. April gets frightened
-Frank now wishes April got rid of the unborn child
-April goes back to playing the perfect house wife.
-Making breakfast, being happy. But you can still tell she is not happy
-Frank knows something is still wrong
-April seems brainwashed
-After Frank leaves for work she gives herself an abortion
-You can tell that Frank still love April in the waiting room of the hospital
-April dies
-Frank moved back to the city
-I love how simple and effective the filming of the whole film is
-The suburbs make you crazy
-Tragic love story
-About the complexity of marriage and how important the truth is
-Conformity
-You have one chance to live the life you want
